Funding Minimum Requirements

MINIMUM BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

1. Any organization desiring to receive funding from the United Way of Scotland County (UWSC),shall make formal application to its Board of Directors, during the application process and using the official application released by UWSC..

2. The organization must be a non-profit organization, declared tax-exempt under Section 501© (3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code of 1954.

3. The organization must be registered as a charitable organization with the North Carolina Secretary of State in accordance with the North Carolina Charitable Solicitations General Statute Chapter 131F titled "Solicitation of Contributions", unless exempt from registration as set forth in General Statute 131F-3.

4.  The organization must provide direct services to residents of Scotland County.

5.  The organization must agree that funding will only be used for programs in Scotland County and that it may NOT be used to pay overhead, including salaries.
